ispace to Serve as Core Partner in Japan’s Space Strategy Fund Project for Satellite Development

Lunar Exploration Company to Assume Transportation and Operational Services for the Project

Tokyo–October 6, 2025–ispace, inc. (ispace) (TOKYO: 9348), announced today that it has reached a  contract with the Institute of Science Tokyo after being selected to serve as a core partner for a lunar water sensing satellite project funded by Japan’s Space Strategy Fund.

The satellite development project named “Resource Exploration of the Lunar Subsurface Using Terahertz Remote Sensing Satellite” was selected under the “Development and Demonstration of Lunar Water Resource Exploration Technology (sensing technology) theme, one of the first publicly solicited themes of the Space Strategy Fund. The project is led by Japanese national university, the Institute of Science Tokyo, for which ispace will serve as a primary team member along with other institutions. The research and development project was selected on April 25, 2025, with a funding grant of approximately 6.4 billion yen.

With this contract, ispace will lead technological development alongside partner organizations to contribute to the groundbreaking lunar resource exploration program promoted by the Japanese government.
