Aerospace Avionics Engineer

This job is to design avionics and power systems for the next-generation of spacecraft for ispace, inc. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge base in avionics design and flight software integration including redundant and single string spacecraft avionics for small and microsatellite buses, single board computers, CCSDS products, CC&DH, electrical power, propulsion and GNC systems. The job includes all phases in design, from helping a team to define system architecture, to schematics and layout, to component selection and supporting small scale manufacturing and hardware/software debugging. Prior experience with high reliability designs (for example in aerospace or automotive industries) is a must. The ideal candidate has experience in minimizing power consumption and an understanding of radiation effects on electronics. A desire to iterate designs quickly and interest in performing hands-on prototyping is a must.

This job is to perform the Trajectory and Performance (T&P) and Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) analyses for the next-generation of spacecraft for ispace, inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in T&P and GNC analyses, and propulsion and GNC system design and analysis for spacecraft applications. The job includes all phases in design, from helping a team to define mission and system architecture, to trajectory design, systems analysis, and supporting the design effort. Prior experience with trajectory design and GNC analyses for space systems is required. Embedded Hardware Engineer

This job is to create embedded hardware for the next-generation of spacecraft and planetary rovers for ispace, inc. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge base for electronics design including board design for CPU modules, high speed signals for items such as memory modules, and some knowledge of RF engineering. The job includes all phases of design, from defining system architecture, to schematics and layout, to supporting small scale manufacturing and hardware debugging. Lead Engineer (Luxembourg)


LOCATION - Luxembourg


Key Tasks

Prepare PSRF’s, develop requirements and specifications for the roving spectrometer, hire engineering staff; working with the Chief Engineer of ispace Japan to define engineering product and quality assurance approaches coordinate division of expertise, leading the development of the Luxembourg rover program, develop new and innovative data processing and storing techniques with local partners.

The lead engineer’s main priority is to leverage local partnerships, expertise and engineering talent and work with LIST to ensure the roving spectrometer interfaces with the LIST mass spectrometer and specific mission requirements but also interfaces to the expertise, facilities and test programs of ispace Japan. In the first few years of development, ispace Japan is expected to provide inexpensive rover design, integration and testing. The chief engineer at ispace Japan will ensure that ispace Luxembourg employees receive expertise from ispace Japan, and also benefit from the low cost of implementing existing design details, integration facilities and test procedures.

 

This is accomplished by time-share managing of ispace Japan’s factory and testing program so that the engineering teams in Luxembourg and Tokyo grow in parallel but avoid duplication of roles. As the Tokyo engineering team grows to support more specialized engineering roles, such as design, integration and testing, the smaller Luxembourg team will be trained in all roles. During this time, the lead engineer is expected to procure rover components, manufacturing of structures from within Europe, but coordinate travel of rovers and engineers between Japan and Luxembourg to optimize training of engineers and cost of rover integration and testing.

 

As the Luxembourg team gains technology and expertise from ispace Japan, it will in turn be equipped to support its own manufacturing and integration facilities. The lead engineer is expected to support payload sales in Europe and determine when sales justify creating a new integration facility for European customers.

This job is to software next-generation of spacecraft and planetary rovers for ispace, inc.
